Week 2: Discussion#2

After watching the 2 videos on the discussion page, answer the following questions in not less than 5 sentences (except for question 1). 1. Enumerate the different Filipino food and snacks in the 2 videos. The snacks featured in the first video were: Boy Bawang, Mocca Cake, Choc Nut, Salted Tamarind, and Halo-Halo. The dishes and snacks featured in the second video were: Pancit Palabok, Sinigang, Kare-Kare, Pork Chicharon, and Cassava Cake. 2. How do you feel when other nationalities: a. Appreciate/like our food Given our different cultures, I am glad that we can all agree in one thing: food. Eating is one of the moments were Filipinos gather, interact, and socialize with each other. Week 1: Discussion#1

QUESTIONS: Looking into the PHILIPPINE situation and context, as the coronavirus is mutating:   1. What can you say about the government’s initiative in addressing the  COVID 19 Pandemic? How do you feel about it? Prevention is better than cure. With this, I feel disappointed since the government could have done more to prevent and address public health emergencies. They could have implemented preventive measures even before the current pandemic. An example of which is the Senate Bill no. 1573 Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act filed by the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago eight years ago. This would have been significantly useful at a time like this.   2. What can you do as a student to help solve the pandemic and current crisis it caused in our country, the Philippines? As a student, I do not have any significant reason to go outside especially at a time like this. Therefore, staying at home will be my greatest contribution to decrease the cases of the virus...

Week 1: Activity#1

    Before Covid-19 During Covid-19 Way of Life Life back then was easy-going. I did not have much to worry about. Everyone had easier access to education and was able to freely go outside. Life today is stricter. It is stressful since there are a lot of things to worry about. There is also a limited access to better education since not everyone has the tools or resources for an interactive learning. Moreover, everyone is almost always at home due to different quarantines. View of the World The world was more peaceful before than it is today. It was not that peaceful, but it was definitely better than what we have today.   The world today is chaotic.
